New Executive Director Announced
The Society for the Rule of Law welcomed Gregg Nunziata as its first Executive Director this week.
Gregg is an attorney, public policy professional, seasoned communicator, and long-time veteran of the conservative legal movement with over two decades of experience spanning the public and private sectors.
Gregg held a series of senior staff positions in the United States Senate. As a former Chief Nominations Counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee, Gregg played a key strategic role in the confirmation proceedings for scores of federal judges and executive branch appointees, including Chief Justice John Roberts, Associate Justice Samuel Alito, and Attorney General Michael Mukasey. He also served as policy counsel to the Senate Republican Policy Committee (then chaired by Sen. John Thune) and later as general counsel and domestic policy adviser to Sen. Marco Rubio. Earlier in his career, Gregg served in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, where he was Special Assistant to future U.S. Secretary of Labor, then Assistant Attorney General, R. Alexander Acosta.
In the private sector, Gregg has provided strategic public policy advice and advocacy services for clients at the intersection of business and government, including on matters concerning the rule of law, separation of powers, and executive branch accountability. He also co-founded a nonpartisan public policy technology company. Earlier he worked as a litigator in an international law firm based in Philadelphia and as a health care policy consultant in Washington, DC.
Gregg holds a B.A. from Georgetown University, a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He served as a judicial clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Gregg frequently provides legal and political commentary in a variety of national media. He has appeared on NPR, CNN, MSNBC, the BBC, and Fox News, and has been quoted and interviewed in print publications such as The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and Politico. His essays, articles, and op-eds have been published in The Atlantic, the New York Post, The Dispatch, and other national publications.
