Welcoming Randall L. Kennedy, Our New Advisory Council Member

The Society for the Rule of Law welcomes Randall L. Kennedy as its new Advisory Council Member.
Randall L. Kennedy is the Michael R. Klein Professor of Law at Harvard Law School. He is a highly influential legal scholar, author, and public intellectual whose work has shaped national conversations on race, constitutional law, and American political culture. Professor Kennedy has written extensively for both academic and general audiences, and his scholarship has been widely cited and discussed across legal and public forums. He has also been a prominent voice in debates over civil rights, criminal justice, and free expression.
Professor Kennedy was born in Columbia, South Carolina. He received his J.D. from Yale Law School, studied at the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, and earned his A.B. from Princeton University. After earning his J.D., he clerked for the Honorable J. Skelly Wright of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and for Justice Thurgood Marshall of the United States Supreme Court.
Kennedy is a frequent contributor to major academic journals and media outlets. He has written for publications such as the Harvard Law Review, Yale Law Journal, and other leading journals. He has also contributed commentary to widely circulated outlets including The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Atlantic, among others. His work has earned numerous accolades, including the Robert F. Kennedy Book Award.
