VIRTUAL EVENT: Shutting the Door Against Public Corruption
How can we best respond to public corruption in the United States?
American Founder George Mason once said, “We wish to shut the door against corruption in that place where it is most dangerous—to secure against the corruption of our own representatives.” Ensuring the integrity of public servants is foundational to stewarding a constitutional democracy. In our webinar this coming Wednesday, The Society for the Rule of Law will discuss the state of public corruption in the United States, and its implications for the rule of law and representative government. We will engage with two distinguished attorneys, Brendan Ballou and Andrew McCarthy, who have dedicated much of their careers to championing and enforcing legal accountability.
Brendan Ballou is a former federal prosecutor and the co-founder of the Public Integrity Project.
Andrew McCarthy, currently senior fellow at the National Review Institute and a distinguished and influential commentator, is a former Assistant U.S. Attorney who successfully prosecuted the perpetrators of the 1993 World Trade Center Bombings. He speaks and writes frequently on constitutional law, national security, and the integrity of our public institutions.
Gregg Nunziata, our Executive Director, will be our Moderator.
Join us on Wednesday, March 18, at 12:00 PM ET as we discuss the state of public corruption in the United States and steps we can take to ensure the integrity of our public officials.
