This position has been filled. Thank you for your consideration, and we encourage you to apply to other roles in the future.

Position: Legal Intern
Company: Society for the Rule of Law
Location: Washington DC (remote)
Type: Spring/Summer 2026 Internship

The Society for the Rule of Law is a nonprofit, nationwide membership organization for attorneys, law students, jurists, and others who are dedicated to protecting and preserving the Constitution and American democracy. Our leadership and membership are made up primarily of conservative or libertarian legal professionals, though our organization is open to people of all political persuasions and career tracks.

Our work focuses on building a community of lawyers, and others, with a principled commitment to preserving the rule of law, the Constitution, and American democracy against illiberal threats, whether they arise on the right or the left. Ultimately our goal is to offer a pipeline for the next generation of pro-rule of law legal talent, opportunities for networking and education, and a voice of clarity on the relevant issues of the day.

We are led by Executive Director Gregg Nunziata, a veteran of the conservative legal movement and former Chief Nominations Counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee. Our board of directors and charter members include retired Judge J. Michael Luttig, former Rep. Barbara Comstock, and several veterans of previous administrations, including high-level Justice Department appointees and White House lawyers.

This is a remote/work from home position. Ideal candidates will have availability at least two days per week during the Spring and/or Summer 2026 semesters. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, from undergraduate and graduate students. • Managing the Society’s social media presence and growing its online following
  • Staffing occasional in-person events in the Washington DC area
  • Conducting outreach to faculty, students, and other constituencies of the Society
