Virtual Event — “How to Raise a Citizen”
Register to join us for an exclusive webinar with Prof. Lindsey Cormack on fostering a responsible and civically engaged citizenry.
America’s Founders believed that a republican system of government required a particular kind of citizen: grounded in notions of virtue, educated in public matters, and actively engaged in their community. Yet public opinion polls and other data suggest a gap between current levels of public civic knowledge and the Founders’ expectations for their descendants.
On Wednesday, October 30 at 12 noon ET, join us for a webinar featuring Prof. Lindsey Cormack and Society Executive Director Gregg Nunziata to discuss her new book: “How to Raise a Citizen (And Why It’s Up to You to Do It).” As Americans head to the polls in a historic election, we will take stock of the level of civic knowledge and engagement among Americans. And we will discuss what can be done to improve it, beginning with the education of the next generation of citizens and voters.
This event is on the record and open to press. If you are a member of the media, please contact [email protected].
