Society for the Rule of Law Advisory Council Member Lindsay Chervinsky was featured in The Wall Street Journal on how one of George Washington’s defeats in the American Revolution ultimately led to his triumph.

Washington adopted a military approach that better suited his army, his enemy’s weaknesses, and conditions on the ground. With a bit of luck and good allies, Washington’s strategy produced an American victory that turned the world upside down. Two hundred fifty years later, the Battle of Brooklyn reminds us that defeat and our darkest moments aren’t the end of the story if we learn from our mistakes and adopt a bold new strategy.
