Gregg Nunziata in the National Law Journal

May 29, 2025

Executive Director Gregg Nunziata was quoted in the National Law Journal for his criticism of the Trump Administration’s nomination of Emil Bove to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Nunziata argues that Bove lacks the courtroom and constitutional law experience traditionally expected of a federal appellate judge, and raised concerns that the nomination is being driven by political loyalty rather than professional qualification.

As quoted in the piece:

‘If he nominated someone like Bove, it would be a real indication that he’s breaking from the model of the conservative judge that the conservative legal movement has advanced for decades, and turning towards more kind of partisan henchmen,’ Nunziata said. ‘I would certainly oppose such a nomination personally, and be worried that there’d be more to come.’
