Gregg Nunziata in Law360
Executive Director Gregg Nunziata was quoted in Law360 discussing the Federalist Society and the state of the conservative legal movement:
“In recent years, [the legal culture on the right] has become far too aligned with the Republican Party, and it’s far too reluctant to challenge politicians who happen to carry the right party label, whether or not they demonstrate basic commitment to the values we in the conservative legal movement share” …
Nunziata criticized his local D.C. chapter [of the Federalist Society] when it hosted a lunch with Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y. She is not an attorney, he noted, and her attitude about people prosecuted for storming the U.S. Capitol in 2021, whom she called “hostages” before Trump granted them clemency, “ought to be in tension with a lot of the values we should share,” Nunziata said.
