Gregg Nunziata in Bloomberg Law

September 10, 2024

Executive Director Gregg Nunziata was quoted in Bloomberg Law, discussing judicial nomination strategy in the lead-up to the 2024 election:

“You never want to be a judicial nominee who’s counting on Senate action after August in an election year,” said Gregg Nunziata, former chief nominations counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee during the George W. Bush administration and current executive director of The Society for the Rule of Law […]

“The prospect of an entirely new political landscape around the corner encourages opponents of nominees to run out the clock and hope they’re dealt a better hand after the election,” Nunziata said […]

“There’s very often nominees left hanging at the end of a Congress, and for some, that’s the end of the road, particularly if the political landscape changes,” he said. But for others they’re “well positioned to be renominated in January.”
