Board Member Alan Raul writes in a Wall Street Journal letter to the editor on the risks of rhetoric involving nuclear weapons:
President Trump’s repositioning of nuclear submarines may send a message of deterrence to Russia. But as your editorial points out, ‘even rhetorical exchanges over weapons that could create mass destruction are worth avoiding.’ Mr. Trump would be wise to apply his own social-media admonition to himself: ‘Words are very important, and can often lead to unintended consequences.’
